Maps should be seen, as John Thackara, noted, as “tools humans use.” Their great potential is their ability to bring grassroots movements together and make information accessible. My research often starts with the act of mapping and they can take many forms such as Concept Maps, Affinity Diagrams, Activity Maps, Taxonomic Maps depending on the subject.
